Salut! Happy Love Week! Speaking of love...
I LOVE NICE. This place is warm and sunny and I think that makes the people here just warmer and sunnier people. I feel a little too spoiled to be serving a mission here sometimes. We had a pretty cool first week! The first week of any transfer comes with spending a bit of time getting to know the area and trying to learn everything about all the members, amis, and how to get around. So I was meeting a whole lot of new people this week! Our ward is like half-english speakers which has been a lot of fun, and there are a lot of young adults, which is also a lot of fun. They are super great about fellowshipping, letting us meet their friends, and putting together activities. They're a really united group of saints here. I am so excited to be working very cloesly with them! We also met some wonderful amis who are searching for the truth. One in particular has struck me as one of the most prepared people I think God has ever made to meet the missionaries. She was met while just talking on a bus. She loves Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ more than anyone I've ever met. When she talks about those who rejected Christ and killed Him she just cries because she doesn't understand how people could be so cruel towards Someone who loved them so purely that He gave His life for them. She talks about how she can't wait for the day where she can run into His arms and tell Him that she did everything she could in her life to be like Him. So, naturally, as we are teaching her, she wants to accept anything that will help her follow Christ. So, she whole-heartedly accepted the invitation to be baptized. Every principle that "we" taught her (it's really the Holy Ghost who teaches, in case you didn't know), she just loves and accepts so completely and earnestly. Everything makes perfect sense to her, and she says she knows she is exactly where God wants her to be. I just love seeing how she recognizes the message that is being brought back to her. God has been preparing her for her entire life; she's told us of many incredible experiences she's had which I know have only prepped her for meeting us. God really places the people who are ready in our path! Spend a little extra time this Valentine's week telling and SHOWING your family and friends how much you love them. Those are the most sacred and important relationships God has given you in this life. Most importantly, figure out a special way you can show an even greater love to our Savior and our Father this week. Hint: the best way to do this is through obedience and service. :) It's the week of love, so take advantage! Well, sorry I didn't have time to say much. But I love you all and hope you have a great week! Thank you for your prayers and support!
